Namanga Western Summit Hike
Overview
Namanga Hills are located near the town after which the hills are named, close to the Kenya – Tanzania border. The drive from Nairobi is smooth, taking about 3-3.5 hours, with spectacular scenery of far-off hills, rolling plains, and gorges. This tough 17 km hike goes all the way to the peak, taking 8-9 hours to complete. It involves a significant elevation change from 1370m ASL to 2584m ASL, with a main section gradient of 25%, making it one of the steepest hikes. Hikers will enjoy amazing views of the town, valleys, and distant mountains, potentially including Mount Kilimanjaro and Mt. Meru from viewpoints.
